The Sierra Wireless AirPrime Q2687RD intelligent embedded module supports quad-band data connectivity up to EDGE. It's backwards compatible with the Q2686, and forwards compatible with 3G Q26 Extreme, which all run embedded M2M applications on an programmable ARM9 32-bit processor at 104MHz. Equipped with up to 44 GPIOs, the Q2687RD is especially suited to applications which require a high number of electronic connections.It also supports a new parallel data bus for interfacing to displays and external memory.
